PTSD Spirituality: Easter, Resurrection, and Healing

A Blessed Easter to You and Yours.

The example of Jesus, where he spends

40 days in the wilderness, the suffering of Holy Week and Crucifixion, and then the Resurrection is actually an inspiration for folks like us.

Experiencing and surviving trauma is part of our journey. Like Christ, we can be resurrected and know the pain is not forever.

We can know and experience that God’s love can wash away our own tears.

The signs of our own experiences will often linger, like the wounds on the resurrected Christ. They remind us of past events, but they open us to know we can experience the full redemption and grace of God. And, that we may be able to help others discover that grace.

As our own wounds heal, we can give to others and help their own wounds to heal as well.

No matter what injustice we have experienced (or perhaps have committed), we still and always bear the Image of God, and we are blessed with His resurrection. …a resurrection that we share in both individually and communally.

A Blessed Easter to You and Yours.
